Green Party TD Neasa Hourigan has said she will break ranks with the Government and vote in favour of a Sinn Fein motion on the new National Maternity Hospital on Wednesday night.
Ms Hourigan said she expects that she will face repercussions but she is voting in favour of the Sinn Fein motion to "register" her objection to the deal which has been approved by Cabinet.
In a statement to the Irish Mirror, she said: "I have to vote in a way that does justice to my own politics, my constituents and the stated policy of the Green Party.

"Voting against the Government will almost certainly result in repercussions but that is for the Government whips and party leaders to decide.
"I am fully aware that votes such as this have consequences.
"Although the Sinn Fein motion is not binding, I will be supporting the motion in order to formally register my objection to the National Maternity Hospital proceeding in its current format."
Earlier on Tuesday, Cabinet gave the green-light to Health Minister Stephen Donnelly's memo which has caused controversy for a number of weeks.
There have been calls for the hospital to be built on public land and for the removal of the phrase "clinically appropriate" from documentation regarding what procedures will be carried out at the hospital.
