Greek long jumper Miltiadis Tentoglou made history at the Paris Olympics by becoming the second man ever to win consecutive long-jumping gold medals. The first athlete to achieve this remarkable feat was American Olympic legend Carl Lewis, who secured four Olympic long jump titles in a row from 1984 to 1996.
Expressing his joy and pride in his accomplishment, Tentoglou described it as a 'great achievement.' Despite his success, the Greek Olympian remains ambitious and has set his sights on future Olympic Games, aiming to compete in both the 2028 and 2032 editions.
Tentoglou's impressive track record includes gold medals at the 2024 World Indoor Championships in Glasgow and the 2023 World Championships in Budapest. Additionally, he has clinched numerous gold medals in events such as the Diamond League, European Championships, European Indoor Championships, and junior championships.
While his career has been marked by remarkable success, Tentoglou has also faced setbacks, including silver medal finishes at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene and the 2016 World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz.
