Greece vs Northern Ireland venue confirmed for Nations League clash

Northern Ireland will complete their Nations League campaign in Athens, it has been confirmed

Ian Baraclough's side will face Greece at the Georgios Kamaras stadium on Tuesday, September 27 (7.45pm kick-off UK time).

There had been some confusion over a venue for the game with Northern Ireland fans patiently waiting for confirmation before making travel plans.

The venue is home to Greece Super League 2 side Apollon Smyrnis and is a 14,200 capacity multi-purpose venue in the Rizoupoli area of Athens.

Northern Ireland have two remaining games in this season's Nations League - at home to Kosovo on Saturday, September 24 (5pm start) followed by the Greeks in Athens.

Braclough's side has endured a poor campaign to date and sit third in League C Group 2 with just two points. Greece top the group on 12 points with one of their four wins coming against Northern Ireland back in June.

Gus Poyet's side play Cyprus on September 24 before facing Northern Ireland. If they win or draw against the Cypriots they will seal promotion to League B for the next edition of the competition.
