Greater Manchester weather forecast for Tuesday as cold snap continues

It has been a chilly start to the week in Greater Manchester, with temperatures plummeting to below freezing and ice covering our roads and pavements.

We might not have had snow today, but the cold snap left us with icy conditions and frost across much of the region - and it looks like we can expect more of the same heading into the coming days.

The cold weather looks set to continue as we head into another icy night. Temperatures are set to hit lows of -1, with overcast conditions forecast by the Met Office.

The chilly conditions will continue overnight, with Greater Manchester set to wake up to another cold morning. Experts say we'll start the day off with temperatures of around 1C, with early freezing fog lifting into low cloud as the morning goes on.

Moving forward in the day, we're unlikely to see much of an increase in temperature, as forcecasts currently predict highs of just 2C. Dry weather is expected, with the morning cloud eventually set to shift, clearing into a sunnier afternoon.

In the afternoon, many can expect clear and sunny spells, but it will remain cold with highs of 3C. Forecasters warn it will feel cold, with temperatures dipping back to freezing by around 5pm.

As we move into the evening, the mercury will hit lows of -3C, with a cold but dry night expected once again.
