It is expected to remain dry in Greater Manchester this Bank Holiday before heavy rain moves in on Tuesday. It comes as an ice warning is issued for parts of the UK.
The yellow warning from The Met Office, which came into force at midnight and remains in place until 11pm tonight (Monday) warns that untreated roads and pavements could be treacherous as temperatures dip below freezing in Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of northern England.
However, the area covered by the warning only extends as far south as Leeds and Bradford and does not currently cover Greater Manchester.

Temperatures in our region are expected to be slightly milder, although it is likely to feel colder than in recent days.
After a frosty start for some, it is forecast to remain dry for the rest of Monday, with some intermittent sunny spells. It may become cloudier as the day goes on with some light winds.
Temperatures will peak at around six degrees Celcius though will begin to drop to around 3C in the evening with the advice being to wrap up if you are heading out.
It is likely to be a largely clear night however there will likely be intermittent showers from around 6am until at least 10am as a band of rain moves in from the west.
There will be some dry spells but further rain is expected on Tuesday afternoon, with the high possibility of some heavy downpours from around 4pm, lasting right through the evening and into the early hours of Wednesday.
Temperatures will begin around 6C in the morning risiing to a peak of around 10C later in the day. It will likely remain unsettled in the North West on Wednesday the Met Office say.
They claim there could be further outbreaks of rain and strong winds on Wednesday and Thursday.
In Greater Manchester, after a wet start, Wednesday is expected to be largely dry with light showers being replaced by cloudy spells.
There could be further downpours on Thursday before it becomes 'brighter and calmer for a time on Friday.
