Greater Manchester's weekend weather forecast

As we enter the first weekend of the Christmas month, Greater Manchester is set to experience colder temperatures and agreeable weather.

According to the Met Office, Saturday will start off with cloudy conditions and temperatures of 5C. By the afternoon, temperatures will pick up slightly with sunny intervals maintaining throughout until the late afternoon and evening.

By the evening, skies will be partly cloudy with temperatures dipping back down to 5C - but it will feel like 2C so ensure you wrap up if you're heading out after it gets dark. Forecasters predict that the northwest will see a few showers, but it's unlikely this will be seen in Greater Manchester.

The Met Office said: "A few showers will push in from the east through the day whilst western parts will stay drier and brighter with some sunshine here. Feeling cold again. Maximum temperature 7C."

For Sunday, conditions will be similarly dry, but noticeably less sunny, according to early Met Office predictions. Temperatures will also similarly be cold, starting off at 4C in the morning, and increasing slightly in the afternoon.

By the evening, the skies will be overcast and temperatures will dip down slightly but will feel like 2C. The Met Office predicts: "Chilly and cloudy on Sunday with some rain, mostly light and drizzly.

"Staying cold next week with often cloudy skies and a few spots of rain, but some brightness."
