Labour’s Bev Craig has won the race to become Andy Burnham’s successor as the new mayor of Greater Manchester.
Because no candidate won more than 50 per cent of first choice votes, the ballot papers of the eliminated candidates were counted again, and Ms Craig was victorious with 309,525 total votes.
