Will wee see a white Christmas in Greater Manchester? In short, no.
Never mind... there's always next year, eh? The region experienced a period of very, very chilly weather earlier this month, with temperatures dipping well below 0C.
This week has been a little more bearable. But as things warmed up a tad, the rain soon followed.

It's been a miserable few fays across Greater Manchester, with early shoppers venturing out into the damp and cold this Christmas Eve morning.
So what's in store for the rest of today and Christmas Day? Well, the likelihood of a flurry of the white stuff is pretty low, Met Office forecasters say.
Most parts of the region may even enjoy a few sunny intervals on Sunday, according to experts. Temperatures will be around 7C before steadily rising to around 8C by mid-afternoon.
The Met Office adds: "Sunshine and blustery showers continue through Christmas Day, with a more organised band of rain arriving from the west later, perhaps becoming wintry in the very far north. Feeling mild. Maximum temperature 9C."
Conditions will begin to take a turn for the worst by early afternoon. Spots of light rain are expected to fall at around 1pm, with heavy showers following into the evening and carrying on into Boxing Day morning.
Temperatures are expected to peak at 9C. The picture will be much the same on Boxing Day. Wind speeds will be somewhere between 19mph and 24mph.
