The Met Office's early forecast predicts the Great North Run will take place in cloudy weather with a chance of some rain.
Temperatures are set to remain in the mid-teens for the half marathon between Newcastle and South Shields on Sunday September 11 and wind speeds are expected to be light.
The forecast suggests there is a 10% chance of rain throughout the race, which starts at 10.45am for general participants, with cloudy weather forecast too. The temperature is expected to range from around 15C to 17C during the race.

The event site will open at 8am and most runners are likely to have finished by around 1.45pm when the Red Arrows will perform in a full display at the finish.

The Met Office will release further forecasts as the Great North Run gets closer. As of Tuesday September 6, this is the weather service's forecast for the Great North Run, in Newcastle and South Shields.
Newcastle - Cloudy
- 10% chance of rain throughout the period between 7am and 4pm.
- Temperatures of 14C at 7am, 15C at 10am, 16C at 1pm and 17C at 4pm
- Light winds of around 7 to 10mph and gusts of up to 18MPH, coming from the southeast and east
South Shields - Cloudy
- 10% chance of rain between 7am and 4pm.
- Temperatures of 14C at 7am, 15C at 10am, 17C at 1pm and 17C at 4pm
- Wind speeds between 8 and 12 mph with gusts of up to 19mph coming from the southeast and east.
