'Grealish about to cook' - Man City fans rave as Pep Guardiola names strong side vs Crystal Palace

Manchester City fans couldn't be happier with Pep Guardiola as he named what many consider his strongest side against Crystal Palace.

City are in London this evening as they take on Palace at Selhurst Park. The Blues will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League back to six points after Liverpool narrowed the gap over the weekend.

Pep Guardiola has been hit by a raft of injuries of late, with his side being hit particularly hard in defence. Ruben Dias’ absence will no doubt be a big blow, with the Portuguese star likely to be out for around a month.

City though have kept up their brilliant form on all fronts as they continue their quest for a historic treble. And with that all-important clash against Liverpool on the horizon, Guardiola will be eager to avoid any slip-ups this evening.

Having rung the changes against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League last week, a number of big names return to the line-up this evening. Among them is Joao Cancelo, who has recovered from the illness that kept him out of the goalless draw with the Portuguese champions.

Guardiola makes six changes in total from their European exploits, with Kyle Walker, Rodrigo, Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish joining Cancelo back in the side. It's a rare unchanged side in the league though, with City fans overjoyed at the side named at Selhurst Park.

Not only will City be aiming to extend their lead at the top of the table this evening, but they will also be eyeing up some revenge. Palace are one of only two sides to have beaten the Blues in the league this season, having picked up a surprise 2-0 win at the Etihad earlier in the campaign.

Former City midfielder Patrick Vieira has impressed as Palace manager this season, having also previously been in charge at the Blues’ sister club New York City. The visitors though will be aiming to avoid becoming victims of a famous double for the Eagles.
