A piece of GRASS from Liam Gallagher’s Knebworth concert at the weekend is going for more than £7,500 on eBay.
The Oasis frontman performed two concerts at the Hertfordshire festival on Friday and Saturday last weekend. Within hours of the gig ending, a piece of grass from the festival site was listed for auction on eBay.
Simply titled ‘Grass From Liam Gallagher at Knebworth 2022’, the item is being sold by user dwadav.aioxj9d and had a starting price of £5 when it was first listed on Sunday evening (June 5).
The item appears to have gone unnoticed until this morning (June 7) when a number of people began to bid on the item. In the space of an hour and a half, the item went from its starting price to £5,200.
As of 2pm today, the piece of grass is currently going for £7,900. The auction is set to end on Sunday (June 12). For those interested in the item’s quality, it is listed as ‘new’. Pictures on the auction suggest it may even come sealed in a plastic wrapper.
The seller, who hails from Stourbridge in Dudley, is also keeping postage costs fair at a satisfying 95p. But potential buyers should be aware that no returns will be accepted.
At last weekend’s mammoth gigs, Liam made light-hearted fun of the Jubilee weekend by selling a series of ‘King Liam’ merchandise. The souvenirs featured the Oasis legend mocked up to look like actual royalty, while 'Knebworth Jubilee' mugs and tea towels were also on sale.
The weekend's gigs marked 25 years since Oasis first performed at Knebworth in 1996. It became an iconic moment for fans of the Burnage -based band with hundreds of thousands of fans attending the gig.
In an interview last month, Liam said he remained hopeful that the band may get back together in the future. The star said: ““I’d love Oasis to get back together. “If it happens, it happens — but I’m quite happy doing this. We should never have split up, but we did, and this is where we’re at.”
