Grange Hill star Gwyneth Powell dies aged 76 with husband and niece at bedside

Gwyneth Powell - best known for her role as headmistress Mrs McClusky in the BBC show Grange Hill - has died.

The 76-year-old passed away last Thursday after "complications following a major operation for a perforated colon", according to a statement by her agent.

Her husband was with her by her bedside when she passed away, reports The Mirror.
