A grandad whose body was riddled with cancer is now disease free without having chemo.
Stephen Cossins was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) and at its worst he lost weight and felt extremely tired and lethargic. It began to spread aggressively in 2019, three years after the diagnosis, but is now cancer free, saying that is thanks to an experimental therapy he underwent.
As the cancer spread around his body, he took part in a clinical trial looking at drugs that block the growth of cancer. Instead of standard chemotherapy, he was put on a series of drugs he took daily, and two years later he has no signs of cancer.
