Grandad uses Alexa for the first time - and asks all the 'real questions'

A sweet video of an 80-year-old man using Alexa for the first time has gone viral.

Kenneth "Kenny" Jary is an 80-year-old U.S. Navy veteran who has gained 1.8 million followers on his TikTok, @patriotickenny, by raising awareness for veterans around the world.

As well as posting informational videos, he also likes to share his experiences with new technology, like Amazon's Alexa.

With the help of his friend, Amanda, Kenny tested out Alexa in a video that has been viewed 21.5 million times - and it's probably the cutest thing you'll see all day.

"Can I ask her?" Kenny asks Amanda as he leans close to the device.

Once he's got the go-ahead from Amanda, Kenny makes his first attempt to communicate.

"A- Alexa?" he says. After a brief pause, Kenny continues, "no answer."

But that doesn't deter him from trying again.

After he finally gets her to reply to him, he asks her: "Alexa, how about sausage and pepperoni pizzas. Are they good for you, or not?"

Unfortunately, Alexa didn't quite understand what Kenny was asking and instead added sausage to his shopping list, and Kenny was amazed.

However, once he clarifies that he does not want a shopping list, Alexa clears it, and he says "thank you."

"Anytime, literally," Alexa replies.

Her response has Kenny's jaw dropping in astonishment as he realises Alexa can understand and respond to him.

Since being posted, the video has racked up more than 3.6 million likes and 22,000 comments from people who said they wanted more of the heartwarming content.

One person said: "OMG BUT PLSSSS LOOK AT THE OTHER GRANDPA. He's so excited toooooo."

Another wrote: "More veteran vs. Alexa please!!"

"He's asking the real questions tho," said a third.

Someone else said: "Alexa better start acting right for Grandpa, honestly."

Amazon even commented saying: "You're never too old to make a new bestie, literally!"
