A grandad from Leeds has undergone a dramatic transformation to go from a “big belly” and high blood pressure to potentially entering bodybuilding competitions. After health scares left him worried for his future, Steve Ramsden was determined to make necessary changes to his lifestyle, as Leeds Live reports.
Just 10 months ago, the 60-year-old was borderline diabetic and had high cholesterol. He also suffered from a bad back, which came during his work as a paramedic for Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
His back gave in when he was carrying a patient, and after a conversation with his wife and two children about the pain, this incident proved to be the moment he decided to work towards better health. Steve weighed 15 stone and 11 pounds last Christmas, and was taking statin pills to manage his cholesterol.
