Grandad demands apology after being knocked back from bar for being 'too old'

A grandad was left 'shell shocked' after he was turned away from a bar for being 'too old'.

Anthony Severs was walking home at roughly 10pm when he stopped by McCooleys to take shelter from the rain and grab a pint last month. However, the 76-year-old was refused entry into Liverpool pub by door staff who told him he was 'too old', Stoke-on-Trent Live reports.

The retired shipbuilder, who has a daughter and grandchildren, now wants an apology from the venue after he was 'discriminated' against. Anthony said: "I’d just come out of The Grapes - it was raining and I’d been soaked. I don’t live far from town and without the buses (due to the ongoing Arriva strike ), I was walking home.
