The 2023 Grand National Festival kicks off in style today with a packed card of top-class racing to look forward to at Aintree.
While the countdown to Saturday’s big race is on, punters heading to Merseyside and watching on TV at home will be treated to seven races on Thursday.
The action got underway at 1:45pm with the Manifesto Novices' Steeple Chase while later in the afternoon, the Nicky-Henderson trained superstar Constitution Hull runs in the William Hill Aintree Hurdle.

A huge odds-on favourite at 1-10 after another recent success at the Cheltenham Festival, it could be the six-year-old’s final run over hurdles before going chasing having seen off all rivals so far.
There are a host of other familiar names running today, with the likes of Shishkin, A Plus Tard, Epatante and Conflated among the entries.
