Racegoers partied at Aintree train station following the Grand National's Ladies Day.
People who were walking to catch a train after spending the day at the racecourse were greeted with a DJ. One video captured by the ECHO showed the moment punters danced to Five's Keep On Movin.
Punters waved their hands in the air and got some dance moves in as they walked through the bollards to the train. Ladies Day is the second instalment of the festival and every year, racegoers spend weeks, even months planning a show-stopping outfit complete with glamorous hair and makeup to finish it all off.
While the weather was not the best today, racegoers didn't let this put a stop to their fun. Throughout the day the ladies and gents of Aintree have been making the most of their race day, enjoying a drink with friends to winning big (or small) on the horses.
Sian Jones was officially crowned the winner of the Grand National Ladies Day Style Award at Aintree racecourse today. She wore a mustard crop top from ASOS, paired with a matching mustard maxi skirt, shoes also from ASOS, a headband from Etsy and a bag from a charity shop.
The 26-year-old, from Ellesmere Port, was clearly overwhelmed when she was announced as the winner this afternoon. Hundreds of men and women spent the first part of their racing day queuing to get their pictures taken, so their outfits could be assessed by the judging panel.
The award was chosen by Gemma Cutting, Love Island's Frankie Foster and Liverpool-born boxer Natasha Jonas, as well as the ECHO's own Catherine Murphy. As the winner, Sian walks away with a holiday worth £5,000 and £1,500 spending money, a £1,000 donation to her chosen charity, a £300 House of Cavani voucher and in store experience, two Garden Club Tickets to Ladies Day 2024, and a Randox Health full-body package.
Second place runner up Carmen Lee will receive a tech bundle worth £3000, as well as a £200 House of Cavani voucher, two Festival Zone tickets to Ladies Day 2024, and two places in hospitality on one of Aintree’s Music Nights in 2023.
And in third place, Steve Mulholland wins a £500 QUIZ voucher, as well as a £100 House of Cavani voucher and two Festival Zone tickets to next year's Ladies Day.
