A horse had to be put down after falling in third race on the last day of the Aintree Festival, the second death this year. Dark Raven fell during the Turners Mersey Novices' Hurdle hours before the showpiece 2023 Grand National.
Jockey Paul Townend has since been seen receiving treatment on his elbow.
The death of the horse comes hours after three people were arrested in connection with potential co-ordinated disruption at the Liverpool racecourse.
