The world’s most famous steeplechase is just days away as the Grand National Festival 2022 launches at Aintree racecourse today.
Along with thousands of racegoers at Aintree, hundreds of millions of viewers are expected to tune into the main event on Saturday, April 9, to see which horse will be crowned the winner. Live coverage of the 2022 Grand National will be broadcast on ITV and dedicated horse racing channel Racing TV, showing coverage of each and every race over the next three days.
The Grand National returns for 2022, with a full capacity crowd at Aintree for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic caused its cancellation back in 2020. It is expected that up to 600 million people globally could watch the main event - making it the most viewed British horse race.

Grand National start time
The Randox Grand National Steeplechase takes place at 5.15pm on Saturday, April 9, 2022 live from Aintree racecourse. The racing will be broadcast live on ITV, with coverage starting at 2pm on Saturday and running all the way through until the conclusion of the Grand National.
