Grand National 2022: Most stylish warm outfits after bad weather hit Aintree on Thursday

The first day of the Aintree Grand National festival 2022 kicked off in style and people were determined not to let the grim weather spoil their fun by wrapping up in cosy outfits that kept them warm.

The opening day of the Grand National 2022 begins three full days of world-famous racing. After three years of being stuck at home for the weekend, racegoers have arrived dressed to the nines intent on having a ball.

For many, fashion is one of the festival's main attractions, with stylish men and women often spending months planning their outfits in advance. ECHO reporters are out on the course for all three days of the festival and managed to spot some incredible outfits just within the first few hours after the gates opened.

Coats are usually a rarity at Aintree, probably because they hide racegoers' fabulous outfits. But with the weather gods not looking to kindly on the opening day of the event, finding stylish ways to keep warm was a must for many.

Many racegoers opted for stylish coats and jackets, as well as boots and hats. A number of umbrellas have also taken a beating in Thursday's windy weather.

Take a look through our gallery above to see how people are both keeping warm and looking incredible.
