Ladies Day takes place at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool today, as part of the Grand National Festival 2022.
Thousands of racegoers will flock to the iconic track today dressed in stunning outfits. Every year, Aintree’s Ladies Day is a spectacle of colour with many people dressing extravagantly to showcase their fabulous race day outfit.
Although there is no official dress code for Ladies Day, The Jockey Club has issued a 'Style Code' and says smart clothing is preferable, with most racegoers wearing dresses or suits. Hats are optional, but are frequently worn by guests, as are fascinators and other headpieces.

The Jockey Club’s ‘Style Code’ for Aintree’s Ladies Day is inspired by the Coco Chanel quote: “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman”. With this in mind, The Jockey Club aims to inspire racegoers to “dress to impress” and show off their personalities through their outfits.
Remember, the Style Awards returns to Ladies Day this year, so you could be in with the chance of winning a prize if your outfit impresses! Ladies Day takes place at Aintree Racecourse on Friday, April 8. The ECHO will be covering all three days of the Grand National live, with latest odds, runners and riders, all the winners and of course, all the fashion highlights.
