After a two year absence, the much loved Grand National returns this week.
Last year's Grand National took place behind closed doors, with fans of the festivities only able to catch the action by watching it on television. This was due to the coronavirus pandemic which had a dramatic effect on the events and hospitality industries, leading to the cancellation or postponement of many annual celebrations.
This year, the Grand National is making its much-anticipated return, kicking off tomorrow, Thursday, April 7 and lasting through to Saturday, April 9. As expected, organisers are pulling out all the stops to ensure race goers have the best time now they're permitted to attend in person once again.

Planning to attend the festival dominates many ticket holders' thoughts for months in the run up, with outfits and travel options closely considered. Some people may even think about taking in supplies like their own food or alcohol, but there's strict rules in place on what race goers are allowed to bring past the ticket barriers.
This year, there's advice and guidance on what to take to the racecourse, as well as some items which are strictly prohibited.
Grand National 2022 prohibited items
No food and drink is permitted to be taken onto the racecourse. If you pack a picnic, it can be consumed in car parking areas but nowhere else. There'll be a number of concession stalls selling food and drink to purchase while you're there, but you can't take your own.
It's also advised for people to only take a small bag to the venue, ensuring no prohibited items are inside it. Guidance on The Jockey Club's website states: "Customers are being advised not to bring a bag larger than a small handbag (30cm x 10cm x 20cm) with them. Please be aware that there will be no left luggage facility on site. Bringing a bag will further delay your entry to the racecourse and we, therefore, encourage you not to bring any bags or prohibited items to the racecourse."
The racecourse will also be operating on a cashless basis, with concessions accepting card payments. You may be able to use cash when placing bets with all on-course bookmakers.
The Randox Grand National 2022 will take place from Thursday, April 7 to Saturday, April 9. It is held at Aintree racecourse.
