An animal-loving gran has died after being mauled by a pit bull she took in as a starving stray.

British pensioner Anne Shields took in the dog called Choccy to live at her Spanish holiday home.

The 67-year-old suffered “catastrophic” injuries to her head and arm after the dog turned on her.
