Chelsea have been urged to sign AC Milan winger Rafael Leao in the transfer window, but only if it works out as a "sensible" offer with good value. It comes as the Blues continue to be linked with a move for the Portuguese international, having missed out on a deal to sign him in the summer.
Chelsea have been given a trial of what the forward is capable of in the Champions League, having provided an occasional spark for the Rossoneri. Leao was largely ineffective though, as Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah continually worked to stop his threat in both matches.
"You can see his quality and what he brings," Chelsea boss Graham Potter said when discussing the quality of the Milan forward. "He's part of a strong team, a strong club and a strong set-up, and we respect that."

It remains to be seen if the Blues do make their move for Leao, however, they may have to do that sooner rather than later as reports from Gazzetta dello Sport via Football Italia claim that an offer is being made over a new deal at the San Siro. The 23-year-old's current contract expires in 2024, which could make him more attainable if the Italian club don't wish to lose him on a free.
While it is currently unknown what price they could set during these talks, former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson believes that a move should be on the cards. Speaking to Bettingodds.com he said: "Stamford Bridge is not an easy place to go and play, but he [Leao] was one of the standout players for Milan.
"Nobody's cheap these days, but if you can get a player like him for a sensible transfer fee, then he'd suit Graham Potter's team down to a tee."
