Chelsea manager Graham Potter has referenced Mikel Arteta's early days at Arsenal as questions continue on his future at Stamford Bridge.
The pressure was ramped up on Potter even further following today's toothless 2-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur which extended their poor run of form to six without a win. Potter has now lost 11 of his 33 matches in charge of Chelsea despite over £300 million worth of incomings in January and hopes of a top four finish are now all but over.
Despite all their success so far this season, Arteta endured a similar run of form during his early days at Arsenal, losing seven of 10 league matches during a period in the 2020/21 campaign. Speaking after the loss at Spurs, Potter is hoping Chelsea can use that as hope for a brighter long-term future, but did acknowledge the pressure he is under.
