Chelsea manager Graham Potter has issued a warning to Premier League rivals that star midfielder Enzo Fernandez is only going to improve at Stamford Bridge. Signed for a British record fee of £106million in January, Fernandez has acclimatised quickly to the English top-flight.
Despite the inconsistencies faced by Potter’s side since joining, Fernandez has been somewhat of a shining light having frequently been one of the best players on the pitch. This trend continued for Chelsea’s win at Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, when the Argentine providing an exquisite chipped pass to assist Kai Havertz’s lead-restoring goal.
That was his second assist in six Premier League appearances, and Potter believes the midfielder will only get better the longer he is at the club.

"He's a fantastic player, a young player. I think he's going to get better and better when he's with us more,” Potter told reporters after the match.
“He's just arrived to a new country and a new league so you always have to adapt to that. You can see his quality, when he gets the ball he passes forward. He sees everything."
Fernandez has been able to demonstrate his qualities he showed in helping his nation win the 2022 Qatar World Cup, despite largely playing for a struggling outfit. However, he has started to reap the rewards of his impressive performances, as the side made it three wins in a week against Leeds United, Borussia Dortmund and Leicester.
Chelsea supporters’ early adoration for the 22-year-old was enhanced in the win at the King Power Stadium, as the Argentina international pulled off a huge knee slide in front of the travelling support, before jumping in the air and pumping his fists. In those three recent successes, Fernandez has partnered Mateo Kovacic in midfield.
This was in Potter’s 3-4-3 system which the manager reverted to at the start of this run, while half-time substitute Conor Gallagher joined that pair to regain control of the midfield at Leicester. N’Golo Kante’s imminent return from injury could allow Fernandez to flourish even further, as he would be permitted more freedom to attack and create in the final third.
