Wesley Fofana has been dealt a fresh setback regarding his return to action for Chelsea after the defender suffered a knee injury in the Blues' behind closed doors win against Brentford. The summer arrival from Leicester has not featured for Chelsea since the Champions League win over AC Milan at Stamford Bridge on October 5 and is set to miss their meeting with Bournemouth on December 27 and more.
The initial prognosis for Fofana looked set to see him miss 4-6 weeks with a sprained knee. However, his absence grew longer with the 22-year-old not featuring for Chelsea before the start of the World Cup in mid-November.
Fofana instead joined Reece James in Dubai for a rehabilitation programme after the England international had suffered a knee injury in the away clash against AC Milan the following week. The recovery process Fofana faces has now potentially been revealed.

An Instagram fan page for the player wrote: "Wesley Fofana was again injured in a behind-the-scenes game against Brentford. The severity of his injury is not yet known. Courage Wesley, we are with you in this extremely difficult new ordeal."
However, the defender himself calmed the fanbase down, replying: "Nothing bad champions in not even 1 month we're back to break everything."
Fofana will join Armando Broja in being absent for Chelsea's clash with Bournemouth as Potter hopes to get his side back on track after a number of disappointing performances and results before the World Cup commenced.
