Graeme Souness makes 'angry' Mohamed Salah admission and Liverpool contract claim

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has explained why he wants to make Mohamed Salah ‘angry’.

The Reds forward is without a goal in his last three Premier League appearances. His last strike came in the defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford last month.

Despite not getting on the scoresheet, Salah has still been involved in the goals. He provided two assists in the win over Newcastle United, and was unlucky not to find the back of the net in the 9-0 hammering over Bournemouth.

Souness has expressed concern for Salah’s form this term, noting in particular the defeat to Man United. The former Reds captain has explained why he wants to make Salah ‘angry’ in the hope of the forward getting more goals.

“I’m looking at Salah for Liverpool against Man Utd and in the first five minutes Martinez goes right through him,” Souness told Sky Sports. “The rest of the game, Mo Salah looked for Martinez and looked for where he was. I’ve not seen the same Mo Salah since.

“I just hope - and he’s signed the big contract he wanted - but at this level if you knock off half a per cent or one per cent then you are not the same player.

“I hope this is not him getting semi into his armchair because he has signed a big contract.

“I’m saying that as a Liverpool supporter - hopefully to make him angry and prove me wrong.”
