‘Govt. will handle price rise issue’

The government is aware of the concerns raised by some sections of society about price rise. The Government will rectify the position situation soon, Arun Singh, BJP national general secretary in-charge of Karnataka, said in Belagavi on Tuesday.

He told journalists that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already begun a series of steps that will address the issue of price rise. “You don’t have to remind us about it. We know it. Modi Sarkar is seized of the matter. Several steps are being taken,” he said. He did not elaborate. He was here to hold a meeting of BJP leaders.

He criticised the Congress as a leaderless party. It has been decisively defeated in Uttar Pradesh and the other States. There are no chances that it will come back to power in the State in future. The BJP will form the next government. We will fight the next elections under the joint leadership of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddiyurappa,” said.

BJP sources said that Mr. Singh and Mr. Yeddiyurappa spoke to the leaders of the two reported factions in the district BJP, the Jarkiholi faction and the Katti faction. It is being said that the Katti brothers are among the leaders who were opposing the re-entry of Ramesh Jarkiholi into the Cabinet.

Mr. Yeddiyurappa later told journalists that there were minor differences between some groups in the district and that he had resolved the differences after speaking to them individually.
