A political row erupted in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Friday after Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin announced that all 59 DMK MLAs would decline the state governmen t’s offer of free official vehicles, citing Tamil Nadu’s financial position.

Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay had announced earlier this week that the government would provide official vehicles to all 234 MLAs, along with a monthly allowance of Rs 1 lakh towards maintenance, drivers and office assistance.
