The government on Monday approved 31 new proposals under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), involving investments of Rs 7,877 crore, as India steps up efforts to build a stronger domestic electronics supply chain and reduce its reliance on imported components.
With the latest approvals, the total number of projects cleared under the scheme has risen to 106 across five tranches, with cumulative investments crossing Rs 69,000 crore.
