RANCHI: The Ranchi University organised a senate meeting after three years on Wednesday. The proposed agenda for the 2022-23 academic session like budget allocation and the election of four senate members for the financial and audit panel were discussed.
Vice chancellor Kamini Kumar said, “We had proposed a budget of Rs. 193.66cr for the university, but the state government approved Rs 183.23 cr. We had proposed Rs 390.63 cr for the teachers and the pensioners, but the government approved Rs 390cr. The Jharkhand Public Service Commission has recruited 105 assistant professors and four contractual professors this year.”
Former vice chancellor K K Nag backed the recruitment of professors on the university roll rather than through outsourcing or contract.
Anjali Kumari, a student of Nirmala Collegeappealed to the management for the introduction of extracurricular activities like personality development to alleviate the stress of students caused during the pandemic.
