Media Minister Catherine Martin has announced two reviews of RTE - saying revelations from the Irish national broadcaster have been an "affront to everything that public broadcasting is meant to stand for".
Addressing media at Government Buildings in Dublin following a Cabinet meeting, Ms Martin said "trust must be restored".
"I am publishing the terms of reference of an independent examination of RTE, and the appointment of two expert advisory committees composed of experts in their field, to oversee the two different strands of this examination," she said.
