The government should apologise for failing to publish a long-anticipated defence blueprint – a delay that has damaged Britain’s safety and emboldened its enemies, according to an influential cross-party group of MPs.
In a scathing assessment, they also accused ministers of offering “excuses” that they say “simply do not cut it”.
