A local government department in Bristol is relocating its Bristol office in what has been described as the “largest leasing deal” in the city’s central market this quarter.
The department has moved to a newly refurbished space at 70 Redcliff Street, while its office at 3 Rivergate in Temple Quay undergoes a renovation.
A spokesperson for property firm CBRE, which jointly marketed the building with Colliers, told BusinessLive they were “not able” to confirm which government department it is.
The group has taken leases on the whole building, located just off the roundabout by St Mary Redcliffe Church, which provides around 20,000 sq ft of floorspace.
The premises, asset managed by XLB Property, became vacant last year and were subsequently refurbished to provide open-plan office space across the ground and three upper floors. Cycle storage and shower facilities were also installed.
Richard Kidd, CBRE’s head of office agency across the South West and South Wales, said: “The accommodation offered at 70 Redcliff Street is ideal for this occupier as it gives them maximum flexibility in a high-quality prominent building located close to city centre amenities and Temple Meads station.”
XLB partner Alexander Johns added: “We are thrilled with the quality of the refurbishment, the new reception and sense of arrival and increased facilities which all contributed to an increase in net internal area and rental growth of 55%.”
