A former coal mine site at Teralba has been chosen as the preferred location for the new state-owned plant where the next generation of NSW passenger trains will be built.
The plant is a major part of the state government's $12 billion Future Fleet Program to rebuild local train manufacturing capability in the Hunter after the previous Coalition government sent it overseas.
