The Government has reached a deal which will lead to a 25% reduction in carbon emissions for the agriculture sector.
Lengthy talks over the last three days had failed to reach a conclusion until Thursday afternoon.
Farmers will be asked to reduce emissions by 25% by 2030 - with the Government's Climate Action plan pledging cuts of between 22% and 30%.
It had been believed that Minister for Agriculture Charle McConalogue was holding firm for the cuts to be below 25%, while Green Party leader Eamon Ryan had hoped to be on the higher end of the scale.
Other sections which will see emissions cut include transport, electricity and buildings.
