Minnesota Governor Tim Walz delivered a speech to union workers in Wisconsin, highlighting the differences between Vice President Kamala Harris' approach to American manufacturing and former President Donald Trump's stance on China.
Speaking at the Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry Co. in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Walz emphasized Harris' commitment to protecting workers' benefits and creating manufacturing jobs. He criticized Trump, accusing him of making empty promises to working-class voters and union members, stating that Trump only knows how to 'manufacture bullshit.'
Walz pointed out Trump's past praise of Chinese President Xi Jinping, calling Trump an 'unpatriotic scab' for his outsourcing of jobs to China. He also criticized Trump's handling of the Covid-19 pandemic and highlighted that the Bibles he sells were manufactured in China.
Walz expressed confidence in a potential Harris administration's ability to address China's influence on American manufacturing. He outlined plans to direct federal contracts to companies that utilize American labor, aiming to prevent unfair trade practices and support American-made products.
'We'll never let other countries like China undermine these investments with unfair trade practices across the globe. This includes supporting American-made products and steering federal contracts to firms that produce goods domestically,' Walz stated.
