South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and Donald Trump Jr. recently teamed up with Franklin Graham of Samaritan's Purse to assist in airlifting warm clothing to the hurricane-ravaged areas of North Carolina, following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Samaritan's Purse, a Christian organization dedicated to disaster relief and evangelism, has been actively involved in aiding North Carolina since the devastating impact of the hurricane in late September.
The collaborative effort took place in the Bat Cave community near Chimney Rock, where over 1,200 winter clothing items were airlifted to the residents in need. The donations, generously provided by Kirstyn Hairston of KUIU and Dan and Agatha Genter of Genter Capital Management, included essential winter gear such as jackets, sweaters, and pants.
Expressing her sentiments on the mission, Gov. Kristi Noem emphasized the importance of providing ongoing support to the affected communities. She highlighted the significance of not only offering immediate assistance but also committing to long-term aid for the individuals who have suffered significant losses.
Noem acknowledged the profound impact of witnessing the devastation firsthand and stressed the continuous need for prayers, support, and practical assistance for the residents as they navigate through the challenging aftermath of the natural disaster. She commended the work of Samaritan's Purse in standing by the affected individuals and providing essential resources and care during this difficult time.
The joint effort of Gov. Noem, Donald Trump Jr., and Franklin Graham exemplifies the spirit of compassion and solidarity in times of crisis, showcasing the power of collaboration and community support in addressing the needs of those affected by natural disasters.
