Republican Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry is calling on Senate lawmakers, particularly Democrats, to confirm President-elect Donald Trump's nominee, Kristi Noem, to lead the Department of Homeland Security in response to a recent terrorist attack in New Orleans.
Gov. Landry emphasized the urgency of the situation, citing the need for seamless leadership in the wake of the tragic events on Bourbon Street. The attack, carried out by Shamsud-Din Jabbar, resulted in the deaths of at least 14 individuals and left numerous others injured. Jabbar, armed with a Glock and a .308 rifle, was subsequently killed by law enforcement.
