Gorka Marquez got to enjoy his own 'first' alongside his daughter days after suffering heartbreak on Strictly Come Dancing. The Spanish dancer made it all the way to the final of the BBC One dance competition, which took place last weekend, alongside celebrity partner Helen Skelton.
Gorka and the Countryfile host had impressed for weeks with their routines with viewers thrilled to see Helen, 39, growing in confidence as the weeks went on. The pair went head-to-head with Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu, Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystał, and Fleur East and Vito Coppola in the final round of the hit dance show.
Each of the four couples had to perform three routines in a bid to impress viewers and be crowned the Strictly 2022 champions. And it was Hamza and Jowita who emerged victorious and lifted the coveted Glitterball trophy.
After fans spotted his 'gutted' reaction to missing out on his third chance at lifting the Glitterball, Gorka has headed back home to enjoy quality time with his fiance Gemma Atkinson and their daughter, Mia, ahead of Christmas. And Gemma pointed out on Wednesday evening (December 21) that it wasn't just three-year-old Mia experiencing a first, but Gorka too.
The Hits Radio host took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of the stage at Manchester Opera House where the family of three had headed to see this year's pantomime, Peter Pan, starring comedian Jason Manford and former Britain's Got Talent star Ben Nickless.
"Mia's (and Gorka's) first Panto!" she penned over the image. She later shared a video of her, Gorka and Mia up on their feet as they sang along with Jason and the rest of the cast at the end of the show.
Gorka, meanwhile, shared a similar image of the stage and wrote in a hashtag: "Always time for a first," before sharing a sweet selfie of the trio in their seats, with Mia gripping onto a tub of popcorn while donning a festive headband crown. But it appears Gemma may have been the one to enjoy it most.
Her man, 32, shared a video of her singing her heart out and waving her arms in the air during the closing of the show as they sang Sing Hosanna. "Not sure who enjoyed it more." Gorka wrote with a string of crying laughing emojis alongside the video.
