Gorka Marquez defends himself as Gemma Atkinson shares 'photo evidence' and gives update on second child

Gorka Marquez was quick to defend himself after Gemma Atkinson presented him - and her followers - with 'photo evidence' of what he did during the birth of their first child as they prepare to welcome their second.

The loved-up couple announced back in January that they are expecting baby number two after welcoming daughter Mia back in 2019. They confirmed at the time of sharing their wonderful news that they are expecting a little boy who is due this summer.

And with just weeks to go until their 'little man's' arrival, Gemma, 38, has finished work on Hits Radio but is still busy getting some projects off the ground as she starts her maternity alone while her Strictly Come Dancing star beau finishes touring with his co-stars on the Professionals UK tour.

But the birth is clearly on Gemma's mind as she took to her Instagram Story with a series of clips from different films joking that is how she and Gorka will be during the labour, which the mum-of-two-to-be hopes will be a water birth. She then shared a photo of Gorka, 32, taken in the hospital before Mia was born.

Ther former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star typed to her 1.8 million followers: "And if last time is anything to go by, how he'll be while I'm casually waiting to extract a human," before adding a face palm and crying laughing emojis as she referred to the snap showing her future husband with his eyes closed while resting in a chair with his laptop on his lap.

"Thanks Gorks!" Gemma continued. "Forever keeping this pic as evidence of you FALLING ASLEEP," she added with more crying laughing emojis. But Gorka wasted no time in resharing the post and defending himself. "In my defence I was touring for 4 months," he said with a couple of grimacing face emojis.

Gemma has since offered an update on her unborn son after having a growth appointment. Letting her loyal followers know how she got on, she said: "All good with my scan. Little man is bang on where he needs to be, lovely strong heart rate, my health checks all spot on as well so feeling very grateful."

She then added: "Everything so far on the right track." It comes after Gemma jokingly issued a warning to dancer Gorka as they made a decision about their family.

The TV and radio star has made it clear that two children is the magic number and previously posting a video to her Instagram Story, the caption read: "Are you going to have any more kids?" and the clip showed the singer Usher performing a riff in which he repeatedly sings 'no'.

"Already decided we don't want to be outnumbered," Gemma also wrote before the former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale actress added: "Shops shut after little man. Back away from my... @gorka_marquez," alongside a crying laughing emoji.
