'Shakira' of Rajasthan, Gori Nagori aka Taslima Banu

Gori Nagori alias Taslima Banu was born on 11 June 1990 in Merta, District Nagaur, Rajasthan. As her dance is quite similar to Colombian singer-dancer Shakira, so Gori Nagori is also known as Rajasthani Shakira.

Dance was banned at home

Gori Nagori loved to dance since childhood, but initially her family members did not like her to dance. After her parents saw her dancing in a family function, they got so angry that they kept her locked in a room for almost 12 days. But Gori Nagori could not give up her dancing.

Education

Gori completed her schooling from Ghotia Higher Secondary School, Nagaur. She completed her Bachelor's degree from Jai Narayan Vyas University, Jodhpur.

Dancing career

After completing her studies, Gori started her career as a model and dancer. She did many shows at local and national levels and earned much fame.

As Gori Nagori is considered Shakira of Rajasthan, she is popular for her bold moves in dancing. Her dance on the song 'gori nagori' became very famous and popular, due to which she got recognition as Gori Nagori from Taslima Banu. Gauri's bold moves soon earned her national recognition.

Then came 22 September 2018 when her Rajasthani song 'le foto le' released on YouTube which became an instant hit and broke many records. And with this her fortunes soared and soared. Besides her dance song 'ghagharon' released on 8 May 2021 broke the world record in the regional music industry with more than 16 million views in a single day.

Entry in the 16th season of Bigg Boss

Due to her immense popularity, Gori entered the 16th season of Bigg Boss in 2022. On this occasion she shared the stage with Bollywood star Salman Khan in a dance performance.
