Gordon Ramsay joked that he shed tears over the price of daughter Holly's wedding dress as she walked down the aisle with Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty.
The couple married in a star-studded ceremony at Bath Abbey on Saturday, December 27, despite a public fallout with Adam's mother Caroline who was banned from the ceremony.
Gordon previously spoke about he calmed his influencer daughter’s nerves on the morning of the big day.
Appearing on the Jennifer Hudson Show in the US on Friday, Gordon spoke warmly about the ceremony and joked about how his size 15 feet made it awkward to dance with the bride, reports MailOnline.
He said: "I was very emotional, I was crying because I realised how expensive the dress was. That is when it suddenly hit me."
Holly's dress was inspired by the regal Alexander McQueen gown that Kate Middleton wore at her wedding in Westminster Abbey in 2011.
After the ceremony, Holly changed into her mother’s wedding gown from 1996 for the reception at Kin House and entered the dinner to Take A Chance On Me by Abba.
Ramsay added: "We have six kids, three girls, three boys. Her mother Tana is amazing. But seeing your daughter there for the first time when you come down [the stairs of the venue] and you just see this little girl just transform into this amazing lady it just gets you."
Several hours before the ceremony, Gordon shared a reel of images on Instagram of him looking proudly upon his daughter, including one kissing her on the cheek.
He added the caption: "I'm truly so lucky being able to walk this beautiful bride down the aisle and gaining an incredible son in law @adam_peaty! I love you so much @hollyramsayy and couldn't be a prouder Dad xxx"
The only close family member of Adam's at his wedding day was his sister Bethany, who served as a maid of honour. His mother Caroline stated on the eve of the ceremony that she felt like "they have cut my heart out", adding: "I don't think they understand how much they have hurt me."
The family are said to have resigned themselves to the prospect that a reconciliation with their son may no longer be possible following a public show of support from Gordon Ramsay after the swimmer’s wedding.
