Gordon Ramsay says Glasgow 'holds a special place in heart' as he started career at Rangers FC

Gordon Ramsay is set to bring his three Future Food Stars finalists to Glasgow as he reveals the city 'holds a special place in his heart'.

The Michelin-starred chef, 56, is bringing his three finalists Amy Dalby, Andy Albalous, and Sam Pascal to his native Scotland as he details their final task in Ibrox Stadium.

The second series of the BBC reality show kicked off in Scotland as the 12 budding food entrepreneurs took part in a challenge in Ayr, and the remaining trio of finalists will give their final presentations in Scotland.

Sharing a promo for Thursday night's final, Gordon says: "I've invited my three finalists to meet me here in Glasgow. It holds a very special place in my heart.

"It's where I was born and where I started my career. But not as a chef, as a footballer." Gordon previously trialled with Rangers FC as a teenager, before bowing out after a knee injury to pursue a course on hotel management.

Sharing the video to Instagram, Gordon wrote in the caption: "UK..Tonight I’m bringing my #FutureFoodStars to Glasgow for their final presentations….and it also looks like the old man still got it on the pitch."

The father of five is seen instructing Amy, Andy, and Sam on the details of their final tasks at Ibrox Stadium. Gordon tells the trio he "wants his finalists to create a new product and social media promo, which they will have to present at a launch event in Glasgow."

Paying homage to his home country, Gordon said: “This has been a fantastic series of Future Food Stars, and I truly believe this season's contenders pushed it up a notch to impress me with their creativity and with the future ambitions for their businesses.

"To open and close the series in Scotland was a privilege, and I was really proud to showcase the beauty of the Ayrshire countryside as well as the hallowed turf of Glasgow Rangers."

He added: "The final three really deserved their place in the competition finale and each product and pitch had a moment where it could have been the winner.”

The show, which is on for an hour, will air on BBC One tonight (Thursday, May 25) at 9pm.
