Kitchen Nightmare fans are used to seeing Gordon Ramsay visit some of the most disgusting restaurants in America and the UK, but he's revealed the worst item he found.
Kitchen Nightmares saw the Michelin starred chef venture around failing restaurants who needed his help, and Gordon, 55, often whipped the owners and chefs back into shape.
The explosive series saw the father of five transform failing businesses to successful restaurants but would often leave viewers gagging with the horrific levels of cleanliness he would encounter.
Whether the restaurants were old and dusty, or the fridges were filled with mouldy produce - Gordon, originally from Johnstone, Scotland, saw it on all his FOX show.
During a 2019 interview with Sean Evans on Hot Ones, Gordon opened up about one of the most disgusting food items he encountered during his time doing Kitchen Nightmares.
Hot Ones host Sean Evans asked: "What's been the most disturbing thing that you've ever seen unnoticed or uncared at a restaurant on Kitchen Nightmares?"
Gordon responded: "It's a really good question.
"So, I went into a refrigeration unit once and saw a tartar sauce that was three and a half years out of date.
"How f***ing dumb do you have to be to use this tartar sauce that stank.
"To use a sauce that was festering, bubbling," he continued. "Like something that's out of f***ing Harry potter that was off three years ago."
Discussing other experiences, the Michelin starred chef added: "Several Stuart Littles spotted in the corner of the kitchen.
"Yeah big motherf******, they're like cats.
"I didn't know the owner had cats, he didn't. It was the f***ing rats.
"Pretty shocking. From rats to mould."
Gordon made a triumphant return to Hot Ones last year, and was prepared with multiple remedies to cure the spiciness of the wings.
The fiery chef is best known for his angry outbursts at hopeless chefs on Kitchen Nightmares, Hells Kitchen, Hotel Hell and MasterChef but was recently praised by his daughter over his candid life advice.
Gordon's daughter Holly, 22, shared her dads advice on social media as he encourages his children to put their family first and to always 'be kind'.
