Gordon Elliott has been slapped with a £1,000 fine after Zanahiyr tested positive for a banned substance after his third place finish in last year's ChampionHurdle.
Zanahiyr finished four and a half lengths behind Honeysuckle at Cheltenham but has now been disqualified.
The six-year-old's ost-race urine test was found to contain 3-hydroxylidocaine, a metabolite of the local anaesthetic lidocaine.
