Waltz questioned why Gov. Walz continues to introduce himself as a retired command sergeant major when he officially retired as a master sergeant due to not completing additional coursework at the US Army Sergeants Major Academy. This discrepancy in rank has led to criticism from some enlisted veterans who believe that Gov. Walz's self-presentation does not accurately reflect his military achievements.
