Waltz highlighted the absence of any mention of the 13 US service members who lost their lives during the withdrawal, particularly in reference to the Abbey Gate bombing that occurred outside the Kabul airport.
Waltz, a retired National Guard colonel with overseas service experience, emphasized the importance of acknowledging the sacrifices made by the 13 Gold Star families affected by the tragic events in Afghanistan. He pointed out that the upcoming Monday marks the three-year anniversary of the Abbey Gate bombing, underscoring the significance of remembering and honoring those who lost their lives.
