Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Michael McCaul became the first Texas Republicans in Congress to call for an investigation into the actions of federal immigration officers in Minneapolis after a Border Patrol agent shot and killed an American citizen Saturday.
In an episode of his podcast “Verdict” posted Monday, Cruz discussed the Minneapolis shooting at length, saying “there needs to be an investigation” to determine what transpired in the confrontation between federal agents and ICU nurse Alex Pretti.
McCaul called for an investigation Sunday in a social media post.
